   Product introduction

HA500 hydrogen generator is aninstrument for producing high purity hydrogen by electrolytically decomposingwater. It is mainly composed of electrolysis unit, pressure control unit andpurification unit. The design idea of hydrogen generator is to provide reliableautomatic gas supply service for a long time.

   Functional characteristics

HA500hydrogen generator adopts membrane separation technology, and the pressure iscontrolled by infrared photoelectric device.

Working principle

Hydrogen and oxygen are produced byelectrolyzing water in potassium hydroxide solution through AC-DC switchingpower supply,

and hydrogen is collected and oxygen isreleased. The collected hydrogen is dried and adsorbed and then output.

Safety Instructions

Toavoid electric shock, you must unplug the power supply before repairing ormaintaining the generator.

Incase a failure happens in the instrument, the use of the instrument should bestopped immediately.

   Instrument installation

Thehydrogen generator should be placed on a horizontal table, and the height ofthe table should be easy to observe and operate and

keepaway from flammable and explosive materials, so as to avoid high temperatureand humidity.

Thehydrogen generator is powered by AC220V [110V] to ensure that the connectedpower parameters are consistent with the power

supplyparameters marked by the instrument.

1.After placing the instrument, take off the lid on the liquid bucket, and takeout the white cotton paper placed in the lid and throw it away.

2.Filling electrolyte: prepare 1 liter of distilled or deionized water, athin-necked funnel, a 500ml beaker and a glass rod. Slowly pour a bag ofanalytical pure potassium hydroxide equipped with the instrument into a beakerfilled with about 500ml distilled water, pour and stir while pouring, andcarefully splash it out. After potassium hydroxide is completely dissolved andcooled to room temperature, slowly add it to the liquid filling of thegenerator with thin-necked funnel from the filling port at the top of thegenerator, and then add distilled water to the highest mark of the workingliquid level window (potassium hydroxide is highly corrosive. If skin contacts,rinse immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. If there is eye contact,lift the eyelid   immediately with flowingwater or normal saline rinse for at least 15 minutes)

3.Cover the cover of the filling port after filling, and the small hole in thelid should always be kept unblocked, and the oxygen produced should bedischarged from here. The hydrogen outlet on the rear panel has a sealedpressure cap so as not to unscrew it.

4.Plug in the power cord and start the switch, the displayed value of hydrogenflow should be between 480 and 520, indicating that the hydrogen production ofthe instrument is normal.

5.The pressure increases gradually, and when the pressure reaches about 0.4Mpa(set value), the flow rate shows "000", and hydrogen productionstops, indicating that the instrument pipeline has good tightness and no airleakage.

6.After the above operation is completed, turn off the power supply first, thenremove the sealing pressure cap on the hydrogen outlet, connect the pure pipewith the outer diameter φ 3mm or 1/8in with the GC and other equipment used,and then turn it on. After the pressure of the generator reaches the setpressure, it can be used normally. After that, you only need to turn on thepower switch of the instrument each time you use it. And follow the followingdaily maintenance tips for maintenance regularly.


Ordinary maintenance

1. Always clean the surface of the instrument.Do not use corrosive or combustible cleaning agent to clean the surface andaccessories of the generator.

2. Often observe the discoloration of the dryingtube and replace the discolored silica gel in time. After the instrument hasbeen used for a period of time, the discolored silica gel in the drying tubegradually changes color from bottom to top. When the discolored height exceedsthe window height, it must be replaced in time, and unscrew the upper coverfirst without pressure, then take out the absorbent cotton in the sleeve andthe sleeve and pour out the discolored silica gel, next, install the newdiscolored silica gel and plug the absorbent cotton. Note that the discoloredsilica gel cannot be filled too full A height of about 2cm from the nozzleshall be reserved. After changing the discolored silica gel, be sure to cleanthe end face of the drying tube and the cover, and then tighten the cover toavoid air leakage.

3. Always observe the liquid level window andadd distilled water in time to keep the liquid level at the higher mark of theworking liquid level window as far as possible. Since the instrument onlyconsumes distilled water, it is only necessary to supplement distilled water, andit is strictly forbidden to supplement potassium hydroxide repeatedly. It isnormal for the potassium hydroxide solution to turn pale yellow, and if thesolution becomes turbid, the potassium hydroxide solution needs to be replaced.Before adding a new potassium hydroxide solution, it is better to extract thesolution in the instrument first and then clean it with water.

Important Notice

1.Hydrogen is a flammable and explosive gas. It is necessary to avoid its leakageand strictly prohibit open fire according to the

   characteristics of hydrogen during use.

2.When handling the instrument, please clean the potassium hydroxide solution inthe generator before carrying, and do not turn it

   upside down.

3. Donot disassemble the electrolytic cell, power supply and other accessories,which may cause irreparable damage.

4. Acertain amount of heat will be generated during the operation of theinstrument, and the heat will be dissipated through the fan.

So remember to avoid blocking the grid hole on the side of the chassis,and there should be room no lower than 5cm around the

   instrument.

5.please drain the potassium hydroxide solution when they are not used for a longtime (more than 15 days), and reconfigure the potassium hydroxide solution whenyou use it again.

Check   the joints of the outer gas path with liquid soap and seal the air leakage.

Plug the outlet with a sealed   pressure cap, the pressure   rises after starting, but cannot   return to zero, please check the end cover of the drying tube and the   interior of the instrument.

Check both ends of the drying tube   and the internal joint of the instrument to seal the air leakage.
